If you’re small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Here are the top three things you should consider for tender responses:

  1. Organisation: Having all relevant company information together in one place is crucial. This includes insurance documents and other necessary paperwork that may be required as part of the tender response.
  2. Personal Significant Control: If a company has more than one stakeholder, there is standard information that needs to be captured about these individuals. This includes their date of birth and physical address (which cannot be the registered business address). It’s important to note that this applies to silent partners as well.
  3. Legal History: Any director or person with significant control in the business who has been involved in fraudulent activities, county court judgements, or money laundering can impact the ability to respond to public sector tenders. This is particularly relevant if they have a significant control, defined as 25% or more of the business.

It’s important to note that a judgement against an individual, when it’s been satisfied, may still need to be declared depending on the specific requirements of the tender. Always double-check to ensure compliance.

Remember, preparation and organisation are key when responding to public sector tenders. It’s not just about the business as a whole, but also about each individual associated with it.
